Sizing & Fit

How do I size Healers Medical Dog Booties?

To find the right size, measure the width of each paw at the widest point while your dog is standing. Important: measure both front and rear paws separately — many dogs have front paws that are noticeably larger than their rear paws. Medical Booties are available in sizes XS through XL. When in doubt, size up for a more comfortable fit. View Medical Dog Booties →

How do I size Healers Urban Walker Dog Boots?

Urban Walkers are sized by paw width measured while your dog is standing. Be sure to measure both front and rear paws separately — it's common for a dog's front paws to be larger than their rear paws, which is exactly why we sell boots in pairs rather than sets of four. For a full sizing chart, measurement instructions, and fit tips, visit our dedicated sizing guide. View the Urban Walker Sizing Guide →

Why do you sell boots in pairs instead of a set of 4?

Because many dogs have front paws that are a different size than their rear paws! Selling in pairs allows you to order the correct size for the front paws and the correct size for the rear paws separately — giving your dog a proper, comfortable fit on all four feet. A one-size-fits-all set of four would mean compromising fit on at least two paws.

How do I size Healers Wraps?

Healers offers wraps for different areas of your dog's body — choose the right type and measure accordingly:

  • Front Body Wraps (Anxiety & Therapeutic): Measure your dog's chest/torso girth and compare to the sizing on the product page. View Front Body Wraps →
  • Rear Body Wraps (Post-Surgical & Incontinence): Measure your dog's rear girth and compare to the sizing on the product page. View Rear Body Wraps →
  • Leg Wraps: Measure the circumference of the leg where the wrap will be applied. View Leg Wraps →

When in doubt, size up for a more comfortable fit.

What if my dog is between sizes?

We recommend sizing up when your dog falls between sizes. A slightly larger fit is easier to adjust and more comfortable than one that is too snug. The boots and wraps should fit securely without restricting circulation or movement.

How do I know if the boots fit correctly?

A properly fitting boot should stay on during normal movement without slipping off or cutting into the paw. You should be able to slide one finger between the boot and your dog's leg. If the boot spins or falls off easily, try a smaller size or adjust the fastening strap. Visit our Boot Tips & Sizing Guide for more fit advice.

Do the Medical Booties and Urban Walkers fit the same way?

Both are sized by paw width, but they are designed for different uses. Medical Booties are our indoor/light-use option — ideal for wound protection and post-surgery recovery. Urban Walkers are built for outdoor terrain and extended walks. Check each product page for specific sizing details, or visit our Boot Sizing Guide for Urban Walkers.

HOCl Science & Technology

What is Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl)?

Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) is a naturally occurring molecule produced by white blood cells to fight infection and promote healing — one of nature's most powerful yet gentle antimicrobial agents, effective against bacteria, viruses, and fungi without harming healthy tissue. It's the same molecule your pet's immune system produces every day.

Is HOCl the same as bleach?

No — they are very different. Bleach (sodium hypochlorite) is highly alkaline and caustic. HOCl is pH-neutral, non-toxic, and safe for direct contact with skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. It will not burn, sting, or damage healthy tissue.

Is HOCl safe if my pet licks it?

Yes — HOCl is 100% non-toxic and safe if licked or ingested. It is the same molecule your pet's immune system produces naturally, so it poses no risk if your pet licks a treated area. Ideal for wound care on areas pets can easily reach.

How is HOCl different from other wound care products?

Most conventional wound care products contain alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or iodine — all of which can damage healthy tissue and slow healing. HOCl kills pathogens without harming surrounding cells, making it faster-healing, gentler, and safer for repeated use. Free from steroids, antibiotics, and artificial additives.

Is HOCl used by veterinarians?

Yes. HOCl has been used in clinical and veterinary settings for decades. Our formulas are developed to meet veterinary-grade standards, giving your pet professional-level care from the comfort of home — no prescription required.

The main active ingredient is Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl). It cleans, flushes, and moisturizes wounds while fighting bacteria and promoting natural healing — without stinging or irritating sensitive tissue. Shop Wound Cleanser →

What is the difference between the Wound Cleanser and the Cut & Wound Spray?

The Wound Cleanser is our HOCl-based formula — ideal for flushing wounds, safe around eyes and mouth. The Cut & Wound Spray is our botanical formula with tea tree, comfrey, myrrh, and aloe — designed to reduce microbial load and support tissue repair. Both are non-stinging and safe for daily use.

How do Healers Medical Dog Booties help pets?

We call these the Slippers of our paw protection line. The sole is sturdy enough for light outside walks/potty breaks, but are not durable enough for extended walks. They protect injured paws, keep wounds clean and covered, and prevent licking or chewing at injuries. Also useful post-surgery, giving senior dogs sure footing, and preventing pets from licking their paws out of boredom or anxiety, which can lead to painful granulomas.

What is the Healers Skin & Coat Grooming Solution used for?

A daily-use HOCl spray that hydrates, rejuvenates, and promotes a healthy coat for all animal species. Use it between baths to maintain skin health and a shiny, clean coat. Shop Skin & Coat →

Can I use multiple Healers products together?

Yes — our HOCl and botanical products complement each other. For example, use the Wound Cleanser to flush a wound and follow with the Cut & Wound Spray for additional botanical support. Contact us with questions about combining specific products.

Do you offer product bundles?

Yes! We offer curated bundles combining multiple products for comprehensive pet care — great for first-time customers or gifts. Browse our full collection →

Safe for use on all species, including pocket pets, birds, reptiles and lizards. CAUTION: Do not use on fish or in their environment, may disrupt biofilm and damage gills. As with any product, check with your veterinarian if you have questions.

Species Compatibility & Usage

Can Healers Ear & Eye Wash be used on both cats and dogs?

Yes. Safe for both cats and dogs — gently flushes away dirt, discharge, and irritants without burning or stinging. Shop Eye & Ear Wash →

How often should I use the Skin & Coat Grooming Solution?

Safe for daily use. Most pet owners spray it on the coat between baths to maintain hydration, freshness, and skin health.

How can I prevent my pet from licking wounds?

Medical Dog Booties and protective wraps cover wounds on paws, torso, and legs. For other areas, an e-collar may be needed. Our HOCl products are non-toxic even if licked, so a small amount won't cause harm.

Pet Wellness Tips

What should be in a pet first aid kit?

A well-stocked kit should include: a wound cleanser, hot spot relief, gauze and bandages, medical booties, saline or HOCl eye wash, and your vet's contact information. Being prepared means faster response to minor injuries before a vet visit.

What supplements can help with my pet's joint health?

Healers Golden Turmeric Paste — bioavailable turmeric, coconut oil, and black pepper work together to reduce inflammation and support joint mobility. Especially beneficial for active dogs and aging pets. Shop Golden Turmeric →

How can I keep my pet calm during fireworks or thunderstorms?

Our Therapeutic & Anxiety Wraps apply gentle, calming pressure — similar to swaddling — to help reduce stress. Also try soothing music and a safe quiet space. Consult your vet if anxiety is severe.

How can I protect my pet's paws in extreme weather?

Our all-season, all-terrain Urban Walker Dog Boots protect paws from hot pavement in summer and road salt or ice in winter. The Skin & Coat Grooming Solution also helps keep paw pads moisturized year-round.

What foods are toxic to pets?

Common toxic foods include chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, macadamia nuts, and anything containing xylitol. If you suspect ingestion, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center immediately.

What should I do if my pet ingests something toxic?

Contact your veterinarian immediately. You can also call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435 (available 24/7). Do not induce vomiting unless specifically instructed by a vet.
